In Southern California the holiday maximum enforcement period began 6 PM on November 23, 2011 and continued through 11:59 PM on November 27, 2011. There were no fatal accidents reported by CHP during this Thanksgiving holiday enforcement period. Statewide, the CHP arrested 1,475 people on suspicion of DUI, which was a decrease from last year’s 1,546 DUI arrests.
